Clergy Involvement In Grace Walk To Emmaus of Silicon Valley

This page is for clergy who will work as a Weekend Spiritual Director or Assistant Spiritual Director in our Emmaus Community.

On our Board of Directors, our Community Spiritual Director (CSD) is mandated with the responsibility to (1) keep a list of clergy who are authorized to work walks, (2) educate all clergy on the Spiritual Director role and Emmaus guidelines, and (3) understand the lines of accountability of all clergy in their denomination/church and their approval to serve Holy Communion. The best way to is this is for each clergy desiring to work to take this training and submit an application.

STEP 1 - TRAINING

National Emmaus asks that all clergy be educated to the theology used in Emmaus. Several clergy who have worked for decades found it very useful and inspirational to take this training to understanding the importance of our role.

The online training is divided into eight modules and the whole course takes approximately two hours to complete.  It’s easy to do one module at a time or you can complete the training in one sitting. At the conclusion of the training you will receive a course completion certificate, and can apply for continuing education credits if you desire.

Thank you in advance for your diligence to understand what is and isn’t appropriate at Walks. Click this button to begin the online training. When you have received your certificate, please take a screen shot of it and send it to the Community Spiritual Director (CSD) at csd@gracewte.com as you notify our CSD that you have completed the training.

Step 2 - Submit A Clergy Application

After completing the training, we ask that each clergy seeking to work a Walk to fill out this application. It is the sole responsibility for our Community Spiritual Director (CSD) to choose all clergy for each Walk, and present his/her recommendation to the Board of Directors for approval. This training and application process will be important in this decision-making of the CSD.

Thank you for your enduring dedication to expanding and building up the Body of Christ.
With joy, Lee Neish
